Chris Boswell has guided Boswell Wasatch Mill’s success since the company’s inception. As the company’s founder and President, he provides estimating, job bidding, and securing contracts. He takes a personal, hands-on interest in overseeing the manufacturing and finish installation process at the Mill.
After laboring for ten years as a carpenter, Mr. Boswell started a new company, Boswell & Company, with his brothers in 1996. The company’s humble beginnings in a small garage with three employees steadily expanded, producing quality workmanship with reliable service. In 2006, Dell Loy Hansen, founder and CEO of Wasatch Property Management, partnered with Boswell & Company to form Boswell Wasatch Mill.
The company’s success is a reflection of its 55 dedicated employees and strong leadership. Mr. Boswell has guided his company through multiple recessions into a multi-million-dollar enterprise with a distinctive reputation for beautiful architectural millwork. He has successfully maintained strong relationships with various general contractors in Utah and other western states with hard work and integrity. The Mill fosters an industrious standard exemplified by his own work ethic. “If we aren’t busy we get lazy,” he adds, “and lazy doesn’t feed the beast.”
Mr. Boswell and his wife, Ruth, have four grown children and live in Orem, Utah. He enjoys golf, hiking, fishing, and hunting with his dogs.
As General Manager since 2013, Abe Broadbent oversees all project management and departments for Boswell Wasatch Mill. He has implemented new policies and procedures that have improved the company’s productivity from $4 million a year to over $10 million.
Mr. Broadbent’s experience in the millwork industry began in 1995 when he started making custom furniture. He was later hired by a Utah-based millwork company, Boswell Olsen, in 1997, proving invaluable leadership for 13 years before joining Boswell Wasatch Mill in 2011. He was Project Manager and Senior Project Manager at Boswell Wasatch before accepting the current General Manager position. With experience in every position in the millwork industry, he approaches an open leadership style. “I believe the next great idea can come from anyone—be it from management to the guy sweeping the floor,” he said. “Treat everyone with the same respect and never discount what anyone has to say.” His ability to listen to new ideas is coupled by his education in Drafting and Engineering from Utah Valley University, providing informed insight and vision to the company. Mr. Broadbent lives in Springville, Utah, with his daughter and enjoys the outdoors, including camping and riding off-road vehicles.
I started in woodwork because of my father. He had me cutting on a table saw at the age of 10. My father retired from the industry after nearly 50 years. All of his children are still working in the trade today.
During school, I worked several summers for Fetzer Architectural Woodwork before starting my full time career in 1983. The majority of my 36+ years in woodworking have been in the Engineering field. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work in each and every department which has broadened my knowledge and experience of architectural millwork production.
I have been involved in hundreds of unique and complex projects all over the world. My hobbies are ATV/4-wheeling, boating, camping and traveling.
As the primary accountant for Boswell Wasatch Mill, Brea Jensen has fostered the company’s financials since 2007, watching it ascend from $3 million to $10 million in annual revenues. She also manages Human Resources and maintains the company’s insurance and safety programs.
Ms. Jensen worked for three years as the Human Resources Generalist for SeraNova, a website design company in Orem, Utah, before beginning a career in June 2000 as a financial manager for Wasatch Property Management in Logan, Utah. She broadened her knowledge and responsibilities by overseeing Wasatch’s annual CPA audit, and provided tax preparation assistance and banking operations direction for the company’s multi-family residential properties. After Boswell & Company formed a partnership in October 2006 with Wasatch Development Associates, Ms. Jensen transferred to the newly formed Boswell Wasatch Mill in 2007 to institute financial policies and procedures for the Mill that matched Wasatch’s business model and operation. Notably, she has implemented new accounting software and a payroll system to serve the company’s 55 dedicated employees.
Ms. Jensen received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Brigham Young University in 1997, with an emphasis in Organizational Behavior. She lives in Springville, Utah, with her husband, Brenden, and their three boys.
